Fees and FAQs
At ABI Solutions, our appointments generally last 60 minutes to ensure we provide comprehensive assessment and therapy for our clients. Its important to note that different organisations may have different increments in which they bill for completed work. We use 6-minute increments, which is standard practice within the occupational therapy private practice industry. This method ensures that calculations and payments are simpler when processing invoices through the NDIS payment system.
If you have any specific questions about billing or need assistance navigating the process, please feel free to contact us.

Initial Assessment (60 – 120 mins minutes total)
Pre-Appointment Review: Before we meet, we’ll thoroughly review your online assessment form to gain a comprehensive understanding of your situation. This helps us prepare for our session and ensures we can tailor our approach to your needs.
In-Person Assessment (60 minutes):
Detailed questioning about your goals and main concerns, focusing on your specific needs and challenges. A review of your condition and any associated systems to help us better understand how we can support you. We may start any necessary assessments. The extent of these assessments will depend on your individual situation.
Post-Session Documentation (12 minutes): After our meeting, we allocate time to document the session in detail, including the next steps in your treatment plan. If needed, this may also include communication with your referring practitioner (this may be done after the second session if further information is required).
If you require a comprehensive report following your assessment, this will be billed as an additional cost at the pro-rata hourly rate of your therapist.
Some interventions and therapies for spasticity management and casting may require the assistance of two clinicians to ensure the best outcomes and provide the necessary support. If your session involves these types of interventions, we will notify you in advance to confirm that two clinicians will be present. The session will then be billed for the time of both clinicians accordingly.
Second Appointment (60 minutes total)
Session with Therapist (48 minutes): This follow-up session will help us:• Complete any remaining assessments, focusing on the key areas that need attention.
• Provide education about your condition.
• Trial assistive devices, or other tools that may help improve your quality of life.
• Start your treatment plan tailored to your needs.
• Recommend ongoing appointments, based on your progress and goals.
• Post-Session Documentation (12 minutes): After our session, we’ll document everything we discussed and plan the next steps. This ensures that your treatment plan is continually refined and personalised to your progress.
The frequency and length of future sessions (typically 30-60 minutes) will be personalised based on your progress, needs, and any other factors such as travel or financial considerations. We follow a patient-centered approach and encourage open communication throughout your treatment journey. If you have any questions or need additional details, don’t hesitate to contact us.
