Advanced Occupational Therapist

Andrea studied Occupational Therapy in South Africa, before moving to London. She has worked in the NHS and Queensland Health in the fields of stroke, neurorehabilitation and intensive care for over 25 years. Andrea completed her Masters in Neurorehabilitation in the UK developing an interest in early rehabilitation and the scope of occupational therapists in the field of neurological rehabilitation. Since graduating in 1999 she has worked on multiple projects relating to improving care across the rehabilitation continuum.

Andrea now resides in Brisbane, working part-time as an Advanced Occupational Therapist, currently covering an outpatient caseload for patients with acquired brain injuries. She is also a part-time tutor for the University of Queensland. Andrea is pursuing her doctoral studies in the field of occupation-based rehabilitation within intensive care units.

Andrea is passionate about acquired brain injury and enjoys supporting clients regain movement in their arm, cognitive rehabilitation and supporting clients returning to work.

Andrea is FIM accredited and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia
