Advanced Speech Pathologist

Kate is an Advanced Speech Pathologist with over 20 years experience working with adults with acquired communication disorders. Kate graduated from the University of Queensland in 2000 and has worked in hospital, community and university based settings in Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Kate’s clinical interest and expertise is the assessment and rehabilitation of aphasia and cognitive communication disorders following acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions. Kate enjoys building strong therapeutic partnerships with clients and their families.

Kate maintains an interest in clinical research, evidence informed therapies, consumer engagement and implementation science and has previously coordinated stroke and aphasia research trials for the University of Queensland. Kate is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia, and a clinical affiliate of the Queensland Aphasia Research Centre and the Centre of Research Excellence in Aphasia Recovery and Rehabilitation.
